We have recently changed the direction of this blog.
It seems that over 90% of the citizens of these United States are Christians and yet these citizen's are being denied their rights to worship and express their love for God and Christ by the distortions of a few.

We are going to explore those distortions as we convert this site to an information base that will show you why our founding fathers did not want to separate church and state, they just did not want the church to run the state.

How do you feel about the Separation of Church and State?

My belief is that there is no such thing.
Our ancestors came to this continent to escape religious domination and possible persecution. They believed in a Creator and wished to worship God with freedom and in a manor of their own choice. They wanted a government that allowed freedom, respected God and encouraged the guidance of a supreme being in the daily procedures of establishing and maintaining a government.

There was one thing they did not want and that was a church hierarchy controlling the administration of the government. But they still prayed for guidance, freely worshipped during meetings and marked their buildings with religious reminders.

Over 90% of our population believes in God, and almost 90% believe in Christ and a government of the people, by the people and for the people.
The people want to worship their God in the manner they want and they want the heads of government to recognize the influence of God. Our Supreme Court has taken God out of the government, out of our schools and changed our direction. The Supreme Court is required to interpret the laws passed by the other two branches of government. However, the court has seen fit to interpret the laws in the image of their own principles and so our religious freedom has been taken from us by the Court becoming a third house of law making. There is no power stronger than the voice of the citizens, so you and I can make changes happen.

This past weekend a program was presented on Fox News narrated by Newt Gingrich called “One Nation Under God” and many of these issues were explained. If this program repeats itself I encourage you to watch it.

In his book, “Winning the Future” Speaker Gingrich tells about the many markings in Washington related to religion. He has carried this further in a new book, “Rediscovering God in America”.

First, we are going to introduce you to the subject by asking you to read a nice article by a friend of all of us, Mr. Ben Stein. Click on his name and read his article.

After you read Ben's touching and pointed message read an introduction to the history of the subject at About.com in an article by Curtis Harris titled:
Solving real problems--Is there a place for God in government?

In our next posting we will review some comments by Newt Gingrich about the intentions of the founding fathers. Interesting stuff.
Come back often as I rebuild this site into a God in Government resource.
Thank you.

HOBBIES

When it comes to hobby time it is truly whatever sparks your interest, floats your boat or gets your juices flowing.

For men or women, there is collecting, building, fixing, playing sports, watching sports, reading, acting, speechmaking and so on.

A new influence for many collectors has been the impact of eBay where you can buy and sell collectibles. We have sold many items for ourselves and others and found that eBay is interesting when it comes to values. Here are some tips for you. After you become established with eBay you can use their past sales searches. In the upper right hand corner select advanced search. On the screen provided enter your item and select “completed items only”. This will tell you what sold in the last few months and for how much. Many of your old treasures you will find did not sell. Look at the difference in listings of those that did sell and those that did not for tips about presentation.

In sports I have tried golf; I played some softball, football, boxing, and wrestling, and tennis, hockey, cross country skiing and later fishing, lake, stream and ocean. I have also hunted but was not happy with the concept. Now, I am building a nice model railroad with the new computerized sound and digital command control, we have a show car (1986 Nissan Z 300 SX) with low miles and looks like it is sitting in a showroom and I watch some college football and basketball (Iowa State Cyclones because of family connections) and I am a big fan of NASCAR racing. I got interested because a family member was a pal of Davey Allison so I watched him for years until he died in a helicopter crash. Now, I watch the young guns. And as you can tell, I am also a blogger.
We live near the PGA and LPGA headquarters, near some of the best fishing in the world in Florida and near the Daytona International Speedway. I have trouble deciding what to do each day. I have a lifetime Florida hunting and fishing license and several poles begging me to take them to the fishing pier or the inlet hot spot.

You see how important you are to me? I am here writing to you.

Not too long ago my Wife and I took an airboat ride to see wild life in the side waters of the St. John’s River. Sneaking up on many alligators and wild birds was exciting and we really enjoyed that trip. Some years ago I took a canoe trip off Sanibel Island (SW Florida) in the Ding Darling State Park and the guide sneaked in on some large alligators. They would dive to the bottom when they spotted us and it was exciting. As I think back on it I believe it was very dangerous and I have no desire to do that again. Now and then we have some wild life come through our yard, a wild cat, skunk, opossum, raccoons and other items because we have a wild reserve behind the house. There have been bear in the area so I keep my nose in tune for any gamey smells and so far OK.
Tomorrow will be one of the car races, (from Dover, Delaware) and in two weeks we have a car show in Jacksonville.

I have given you some great sites to keep you up to date with various sports. If you have any great sites to share please pass them on and we will add them to the list.
